In the past, candles we bought from the store would always give us headaches. For years we ignored this, and didn't think much of it until we found out that paraffin wax (most commonly used) is very bad for us, and the environment.
With further research, we discovered that a lot of candle companies use phthalates, nitro dusk, plastics, and vanillin in their fragrance oils. These are all chemicals that are not good for us or our planet. While soy has become more popular in the last couple of years, there is still a large percentage of the population that is unaware of it's benefits.
We created OB Candles to bring more awareness to all natural soy candles. For over a year we tested many different wicks, fragrance oils, and jars to develop our products. A lot of big candle companies use plastic containers. We hate plastic and do not use it. All of our containers are glass and can be repurposed/recycled after the candle is done.
Reducing our carbon footprint is of the utmost importance. For us, all natural is the way to go because our health is important to us.
